Meet Mackensie! She graduated with her degree in Fitness, Recreation and Sports Management from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. She joined the Thrive team in March of 2023. She grew up in Fort Worth, TX and made it her mission to come back to the DFW area to be able to give back to her community. She is driven by her passion for serving the community. She is an animal lover (fur parent of two cats and a dog), plays soccer in her free time, and loves being with my family! She joins the aquatics team with experience as an lifeguard,  swim instructor, and recreation programming.

Nicholas Jacobs, Senior Head Lifeguard

Meet Nick! Nick worked as a Lifeguard and head lifeguard for six years in The Colony, where he discovered his passion for Lifeguarding. He has now turned that passion into full time work, bringing his experience and love for the water to Thrive as a Head lifeguard. Nick got his lifeguard certification in 2016, adding his LGI in 2022. Nick has lived in Texas his whole life, being born in Plano and growing up in The Colony. Outside of work Nick loves to swim and loves the Dallas Cowboys! Meet the Fitness & Sports Team

Ryan Richardson, Fitness & Sports Supervisor

Meet Ryan! Ryan is from Huntington Beach, California. He recently moved to Irving with his wife who was born and raised in Corinth, Texas. Ryan graduated from California State University Long Beach with his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology - Physical Education and teaching credential in Physical Education K-12. He continued his education by receiving a Masters degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University. Before joining the team at Thrive, he was a teacher and Athletic Director for a private school in Southern California. He has experience in parks and recreation working with the City of Irvine and City of Costa Mesa in California. In his spare time he likes to workout, enjoy the outdoors, take part in adult league sports, sell Real Estate, and watch the Cincinnati Bengals play on Sundays.

Cierra Brackens, Fitness Coordinator

Meet Cierra, an Indiana native, who graduated from Ball State University with a bachelors in Exercise Science. She moved down to Texas shortly after where she has been pursuing her love for fitness as a personal trainer! Before joining us at Thrive she taught group exercise classes at a boutique health club as well as ran her own small personal training business.  As the fitness specialist for Thrive, Cierra will use her passion for health and fitness to encourage the patrons of Lewisville to become the best version of themselves!

Meet James! James graduated from Texas A&M in 1988. He was a High School Teacher and Coach for 29 years. James taught all levels of English, coached Football, Basketball and Baseball and has worked all over the state teaching and coaching. Before starting his teaching career he worked for Colonnade Athletic Club in San Antonio. And in his spare time he likes watching college football and riding his Harley. We are excited to have James on the Thrive team! If you see him around, make sure to say hi!

Jazmyn Gindratt, Thrive Assistant Manager

Meet Jazmyn (or Jazz for short). Jazmyn was born and raised in Abilene, TX and enjoys being outdoors, working out, and playing basketball. She graduated from Texas Wesleyan with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and continued on to receive her Masters' in Psychology Specialization in Sport Psychology. She was promoted to Assistant Manager in November 2022. Jazmyn comes to us with an abundance of experience in Recreation where she has overseen a wide variety of programming from summer camp to seniors and operations of recreational facilities. Jazmyn is looking forward leading the Thrive team and contributing her knowledge to bring innovative programs, and events for all ages to Thrive.

Darrin Williams, Operations Supervisor

Meet Darrin! Darrin graduated from UNT with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies. He joined the Lewisville team in December 2003 as a Recreation Specialist at Frederick P. Herring Recreation Center and was promoted in October 2011 to Center Supervisor for Memorial Park Recreation Center. Darrin is now the Operations Supervisor for Thrive and is responsible for overseeing the customer experience such as memberships, rentals, tot drop, and overall facility operations. If you see him in passing, be sure to say hi or give him a smile and you are sure to get the same greeting in return!

Mayra Zavala, Senior Customer Service Representative

Meet Mayra, our Senior Customer Representative! You may recognize her from previously being our Guest Services Cashier, she began at Thrive in August 2020 and has been here since! Mayra helps over see our Guest Services staff, Rentals, and helps with the Thrive social media. Mayra obtained her Associates degree and is currently a student at The University of Texas at Arlington pursing a Bachelors of Business in Marketing degree. Mayra enjoys traveling, coffee shops, spending time with family, and being a Mavericks fan! Go Mavs!!

Leena Istolainen, Customer Service Associate

Meet Leena! Leena works our opening shift and is from Finland and has been here in Texas with her family for 9 years. On Leena's free time she enjoys resistance training, rowing and skating which are her favorite cardio. Leena likes spending time outside when it is not too hot. Apart from hobbies, Leena is also studying to be a personal trainer because "a healthy lifestyle is important to me. Especially when we get older exercising daily is so important and Thrive Lewisville is the perfect place for that!" If you see Leena around make sure to say hi!

Osanna Nalbandian, Customer Service Associate

Meet Osanna, Osanna previously worked in our Thrive Adventure Land and recently moved up as our Full-Time Closing Cashier! Osanna grew up in Greece, and has been living in Lewisville for 21 years. She speaks 5 languages and is also a mother of two, a son and a daughter. Osanna enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and trying different cuisines. She "Thrives at building relationships and helping out my community."

Miranda Maloy, Programs Supervisor

Meet Miranda! Miranda was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio before relocating to the great state of Texas in 2012. Over the last 12 years, Miranda has worked in communities big and small providing programming for all ages. Miranda has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas A&M University Central, and is pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt. In her free time, Miranda enjoys reading, drawing and painting, and avidly supporting the Dallas Stars! Miranda specializes in mindfulness based programming, teen programming, and special events and is excited to bring new programs to Thrive! 

Kathryn Dye, Active Adults Specialist

Meet Kat! Kat just recently joined us here at Thrive after working with the Southlake Senior Activity Center for the past 3+ years. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 2018. Kat likes to be active and enjoys participating in group exercise classes whenever she can. Her all-time favorite activity, however, is spending time with her adorable seven-year-old son.
