Learn Lewisville

The City of Lewisville is inviting residents to Learn Lewisville, (formally called Nothing But Net) a public event to learn about exciting ways to engage with their community. The event will be held Saturday, April 6, 1-5 p.m., at Thrive, 1950 S. Valley Parkway.

This free, family-friendly event, created as part of the Community Engagement Committee, is designed to help residents learn ways to engage their neighbors, learn about City programs to help spruce up and revitalize their homes and neighborhoods, and learn about ways to engage and use what city departments have to offer Lewisville residents. Free food and drinks will be provided.

Attendees also will get to check out the Bearcat - Lewisville Police Department’s SWAT vehicle, a Lewisville Fire Department vehicle, and watch a special LPD drone demonstration.

  • The Planning Department will have information on the Business 121 Corridor Plan and backyard cottage. Kids can stop and build structures with lego bricks.
  • LLELA will have a few animal pelts and artifacts displayed that people can touch and examine up close. These will be a representation of the type of animals that can be found in your neighborhood or on a visit to LLELA.
  • Lewisville Animal Services will have face painting and temporary tattoos, along with information on vaccine clinics, and shelter information.
  • Parks and Recreation will have games and activities for the kids along with information on upcoming events and activities. Plus free swag giveaways.
  • Public Services will share information on water quality and common water problems.
  • LPD also will share ways residents can volunteer with the department, highlight how Neighborhood Resource Officers are important to the community, and teach residents about the Lewisville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association
  • Neighborhood Services will highlight programs to enhance residences, blocks, and entire neighborhoods
  • The Fire Department will provide fire and safety educational materials, information regarding the Reserve Program, and a fire extinguisher simulator.
  • The library will be promoting upcoming special events and volunteer opportunities. We will also have our button maker and bookmarks that can be colored.
  • Community Relations and Tourism will have information about upcoming City events and Lewisville Grand Theater shows, as well as volunteer opportunity information. We will have a Lewisville Grand Theater ticket giveaway, a fun Plinko game where people can win promotional items, and our new Southern Denton County Visitors Guide.
